Nathan & Kelsi Ayers
We both came to WKU in the fall of 2007. Nathan transferred to Western from a community college in Lexington and Kelsi came in as a freshman after graduating high school in northern Kentucky. Neither of us knew what God had planned for us, but we both felt confident He had called us to Bowling Green for a reason.
We met on a Sunday morning that fall when a mutual friend brought Nathan to the church Kelsi had been attending downtown. Nathan had just started going to CSF, so he invited Kelsi to come by for worship that night. After an evening of worship, an awkward trip to Subway, and a couple of lucky 3-point shots on the goal behind CSF, the rest was history.
It was an incredible blessing for both of us to navigate the ups and downs of college and our relationship alongside our CSF family and under the guidance of Steve and Teresa. Through Bible studies, Focus, retreats, and countless late-night trips to GADS, we each grew in our faith and experienced the immense love Christ has for us. When Nathan felt a call to ministry and had an opportunity to intern at CSF his senior year, we began to understand why God brought the two of us to WKU.
We love college students, and we love the opportunity to help them grow and experience the love of Jesus during their time at WKU – a brief few years that will shape the rest of their lives. God is still working in us and teaching us, but we’re so grateful and humbled that He would choose to use us and our marriage to advance His Kingdom on this campus. in this community, and beyond.
